The Presidential Service Award program was established in 2023 by President Obama to inspire and encourage Americans to engage in volunteer service and to recognize the outstanding efforts of those who have made a significant impact. The award is a symbol of the difference that volunteering can make in the lives of others. Last week we honored 3 exceptional Issaquah School District students who have already gone above and beyond in their service, both to the Issaquah Schools Foundation and to other worthwhile organizations.
Congratulations to Ruchi Doshi, Issaquah High School senior, Leo Chen, Skyline High School senior, and Ruoxuan (Emily) Chen, Pine Lake Middle School 8th grader. Ruchi has dedicated her time and talent as an ISF Peer Tutor at Issaquah Middle School and as a volunteer at the ISD Summer School program. Through his involvement in Hand In Hand We Code, Leo teaches ISD community kids coding and also does community. outreach for ISF. Emily is part of Lens of Youth, a nonprofit organization that uses photography to bring the stories of those with developmental disabilities to life and that also volunteers their services to capture the moments of engagement at ISF events. Thank you to all 3 for their selflessness, dedication to others, and for inspiring us all.
Volunteering with ISF is a great way to engage with the community and to create real and lasting impact for our students. Visit https://lnkd.in/g5fPqT-5 for opportunities.
