Developing and Connecting Cybersecurity Leaders Globally About the Tampa Bay Chapter The Tampa Bay [ISSA] chapter is a vendor and product agnostic organization serving the Information Security professionals in the Tampa Bay, Florida area and is comprised of over 100 members. The chapter is sponsored by several organizations who fully support it and its members. The chapter hosts monthly meetings and is always open to co-hosting and hosting additional events supporting great causes in the region. Our chapter has an active Board of Directors and multiple volunteers who donate their time to ensure our meetings and events are engaging. Our chapter meetings cover a wide range of topics focusing on both emerging and traditional risks and address the challenges information security experts face today. About ISSA International The Information Systems Security Association (ISSA)? is a not-for-profit, international organization of information security professionals and practitioners. It provides educational forums, publications, and peer interaction opportunities that enhance the knowledge, skill, and professional growth of its members. The primary goal of the ISSA is to promote management practices that will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information resources. The ISSA facilitates interaction and education to create a more successful environment for global information systems security and for the professionals involved. Members include practitioners at all levels of the security field in a broad range of industries such as communications, education, healthcare, manufacturing, financial, and government. Some interesting tidbits included in this news report. The fact that the lawsuit against MGM for their data breach appears to have been negotiable is troubling. We may not have the whole picture but I do think consequences are key to driving organizations to proactively address security, and specifically data, vulnerabilities. Today's ISSA Tampa Bay networking event was a huge success! A special thanks to Chris Saucier and Cyberhaven for delivering an insightful presentation on Data Detection and Response (DDR).
