?? “New product development remained robust through the third quarter of 2024. The pace of new launches is set to surpass, or has already surpassed, levels seen across both 2022 and 2023. Active ETFs have set a new record for launches, having incepted nearly 400 funds in just the first nine months of the year. Defined outcome and buffer funds continue to serve as a key driver for active ETF launches, accounting for 98 of the year’s new inceptions, but new launches are still robust across other traditional asset classes, including U.S. equity (89) and taxable bond (83). Investors’ and advisors’ increasing acceptance of the active ETF chassis has supported asset managers’ persistent and aggressive new development strategies,” said Alan W. ??40 is the new 60 for MPS costs ?? For the first time the MPS research has leveraged ISS MI’s Simfund Fee and Expense data to highlight the cost profile of funds used within model portfolios. Considering all fund sales through MPS programs led to a sales weighted ongoing charge figure (OCF) of 41 bps. A figure that aligns to the underlying fund cost seen with many of today’s blended MPS programs. Fund sales, however, were widely distributed with many passive funds sales occurring at an OCF below 15bps and much of the active fund sales activity, particularly equity, in funds well above the 60bps level.
