Has AI adoption in UK Fibre Networks finally arrived? The latest announcement from ISPA partner, IQGeo would indicate it has! IQGeo who works with several UK fibre networks, announces that they have entered into exclusive negotiations to acquire the AI computer vision software developer Deepomatic - a company providing AI-powered computer vision technology globally, having processed 20 million jobs in the past year alone. Commenting on the acquisition, Richard Petti, CEO at IQ Geo stated, “Deepomatic is already delivering amazing quality control and efficiency benefits to telecom and utility operators and their AI skillset will be strategic in realizing our vision of a predictive and proactive network model. Today we are pleased to launch the Telecommunications Pole Siting Best Practice Guidance, a key reference point for providers in their vital work on the nationwide rollout of gigabit broadband infrastructure. Developed by the Telecommunications Poles Working Group, an initiative established by ISPA UK and INCA - Independent Networks Co-operative Association at the request of Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, this guidance outlines recommendations that encourage a community-conscious approach to telecoms infrastructure deployment. Changing Perceptions of Cybersecurity: Fostering deeper understanding of DDoS threats and how effective solutions can bolster both resilience and business continuity - Key Insights from ISPA’s roundtable with Corero ISPA was delighted to host a roundtable discussion yesterday with our DDoS Defence partner Corero Network Security (LSE: CNS) (OTCQX: DDOSF), bringing together industry experts to explore the ever-evolving landscape of DDoS attacks and the urgent need for proactive cybersecurity measures. A key theme throughout the conversation was the need for a mindset shift – cybersecurity must be seen not just as an operational burden, but as a competitive advantage and revenue opportunity. Industry collaboration, intelligence sharing, and increased education will be critical in helping businesses stay ahead of emerging threats. Some key takeaways from the session: ?? DDoS attacks are evolving – while most remain under 10 minutes and 10Gbps, carpet bombing (spread-spectrum attacks) has surged by 300%. ?? DDoS defense is a rare opportunity to align?cybersecurity investment with the revenue goals of a business. Shared experience at the event demonstrated that a cross-functional effort from IP Engineering, to Product Management yielded the best results. ?? Customer expectations are shifting – businesses demand clean, DDoS-protected services, but the challenge remains in demonstrating tangible value.
