Akiko Mera (Japan) is the current Executive Director of Medecins du Monde Japan working to ensure “access to health for all” through her firm commitment in the People’s movement, which empowers communities and creates open dialogues with different constituencies. She has been active with the grassroots organizations both nationally and internationally to raise awareness, advocate and mobilize people in food security and access to health. ??International One Health Conference ?? ??Meet the Speaker!?? Ms.Charlotte Hicks ,Senior Technical Officer - Nature-Based Solutions. Charlotte works with governments, UN agencies, researchers and practitioners to build capacity and support decision-making on biodiversity and climate change policy and actions, including on ecosystem-based adaptation to climate change, Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (REDD+) and nature for health & wellbeing. ??International One Health Conference ?? ??Meet the Speaker!?? Dr Muhammad Usman Zaheer (DVM, PhD, Diplomate ACVPM, M.A.C.E.) is the Regional AMR Surveillance and One health Specialist at FAO’s Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok. In this role, he works closely with the Quadripartite, and Member Countries for establishment of an integrated One Health surveillance system for AMR/AMU, development of joint sector One Health action plan to address priority One Health gaps at national level. This work contributes to one health in agrifood sectors for global health and food security, and sustainable livestock transformation. Usman is a Veterinary Preventive Medicine and Public Health professional with 9+ years of progressively responsible role in establishment and implementation of monitoring and surveillance system for infectious animal disease including zoonoses and AMR, One Health approach, workforce development and coordination with stakeholders. He is Member American College of Epidemiology (M.A.C.E.), holds a PhD degree in Epidemiology from Colorado State University, USA (funded by The Fulbright Program), a Board Certification (Diplomate) in Veterinary Preventive Medicine from the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine, and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, Pakistan.
