Last week, the Island Innovation team travelled to St. Kitts and Nevis ???? to get ready for #GSIS2025. We met with the Cabinet of Ministers of the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis (pictured), checked out event locations, and connected with the people who will help us organise our May summit and forums. We visited the main conference venue, the St. Kitts Marriott Resort, and the St. Kitts Eco Park, where we'll hold the Opening Ceremony on May 27. We also went to the Governor-General’s Residence for the first day's evening reception. After exploring St. Kitts, we headed to Nevis, the small island making headlines for its geothermal potential. Nevis will host two of our Forums: the “Geothermal Energy Forum” (May 26) and the “1st Forum on Access to Climate Finance for Sub-National Island Jurisdictions” (May 30). We met with Honorable Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis, and Hon. Spencer Brand, Minister of Environment, who are enthusiastic to co-host these forums. A special thanks to Hon. Dr. Joyelle Clarke, Minister of Sustainable Development, Environment and Climate Action; the Department of Energy of Saint Kitts and Nevis; Mr. Cosbert W., UN Resident Coordinator; and Freedom Radio FM.
