???? Exciting news! We had a wonderful meeting with Puget Sound Energy's grant representative regarding our solar grant application to bring an EV charging program to Generations Place! ???? Our vision includes installing at least four EV charging stations on-site making it easier for residents to charge their electric vehicles while promoting sustainability. With solar energy powering our initiatives, we're committed to reducing our carbon footprint and providing eco-friendly options for our community. If you’re considering buying or leasing a used or new electric vehicle, consider looking into Washington State Department of Commerce's Electric Vehicle (EV) Instant Rebate Program which makes it easier to own or lease a new or used eclectic vehicle (EV) with big upfront discounts for income-qualified drivers. More than 3,300 Washington residents have received rebates in less than 60 days since the program’s launch and as of October 9, there is $9.4M of program initiatives remaining! Link: https://lnkd.in/gSXG46cW Stay tuned for updates as we work to make this project a reality! ??? #SolarEnergy #EVCharging #SustainableLiving #GenerationsPlace #CleanEnergyFuture

Located at the corner of 2nd Street and DeBruyn Avenue, Generations Place will be Langley’s first multifamily affordable housing development since the 1980s, featuring 14 two- and three-bedroom apartment flats in three two-story buildings. This project is designed to serve households earning up to 60% and 80% of the median income, benefiting a wide range of local workers such as early childhood educators, office managers, construction workers, social service providers, and retail workers. Created by and for the local community, Generations Place will benefit every aspect of our local economy. Island Roots Housing had six general construction firms apply to build Generations Place, with most coming from off-island. Our selection, GenCap Construction Corp., has extensive multifamily experience, personal ties to Whidbey, and a keen interest in partnering with us to grow local construction industry capacity—starting by employing local trades on this project. We hope you can join us for this important event!
