This Women's History Month, we’re shining a spotlight on incredible women making an impact in technology. One of those leaders is Paula Cawthon, a seasoned IT professional who has dedicated her career to breaking barriers and uplifting other women in the industry. In the tech industry, the path to success isn’t always equal. Paula Cawthon knows this firsthand, having spent 30 years working in IT, often as the only woman in the room. Early in her career, she faced challenges—struggling to gain respect, having her knowledge questioned, and constantly fighting for well-deserved promotions. Fifteen years ago, Paula found support in women's networking groups, but it wasn’t until recently, at VeeamON, that she truly saw the impact of a strong Women in Tech community. After being invited to a Women in Tech group, she was inspired to bring that same sense of connection and support to ISG. Paula started the Women in Tech group at ISG to create opportunities for professional growth, advocate for upward movement, and, most importantly, help bridge the gender gap in tech. Her mission goes beyond IT—she wants to encourage more women to pursue STEM careers and ensure they have the support they need to thrive.
