ISBT’s?Closure?Ovality Standard Team, led by Gary Arthur and his technical committee, together with?Cetie , chaired by Alessandro Falzoni and representing?over?73 member companies, proudly announces the release of an essential new?publication:?the?Plastic Closure Ovality Guideline! This guideline sets a new standard in plastic closure quality and precision, offering valuable insights and best practices to the industry. Closure Ovality, the distortion of closures from their ideal round shape, often leads to confusion, misunderstandings, and assumptions that negatively affect production and packaging processes. This new publication serves to clarify the reasons behind closure ovality, how it occurs after manufacturing, and the factors that contribute to ovalization during transport. It also outlines the acceptable levels of ovality within the industry, providing a clear standard for manufacturers and suppliers. The publication is designed not only to benefit?equipment suppliers, but also?closure suppliers,?beverage industry professionals, and?consumer packagers. It offers a valuable tool for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to ensure that their equipment is designed to meet the industry's ovality standards. We are excited to announce the release of the updated?Wash Station Guideline, led by Rishi Shukla. and?Kathie Saunders, in collaboration with a dedicated team of sweetener suppliers and brand owners. This comprehensive revision includes key updates that are essential for maintaining high standards in the cleaning and sanitizing of liquid sweetener transport vessels. In this new version, you’ll find the addition of?sweetener railcar washing guidelines, along with clarified specifications for?wash filters?and?air filter sizes. Additionally, the recommended?railcar liner?has been updated to reflect the latest industry standards. This guideline is designed to provide general guidance to both beverage manufacturers and liquid sweetener suppliers for cleaning and sanitizing sweetener transport vessels. It also outlines the best practices for wash station facilities and systems to ensure effective and safe washing procedures.
