In 2025, third-party risk refers to the potential threats an organization faces when working with external vendors, partners, or service providers. These risks can include cyberattacks, financial instability, regulatory violations, and operational disruptions that may impact the organization’s performance. Managing supplier risk and control is essential because many businesses rely heavily on third parties for key services and products. If suppliers experience problems—like data breaches, financial struggles, or compliance issues—it can harm the organization’s reputation, operations, and financial health. By effectively managing these risks, companies can assess, monitor, and reduce potential vulnerabilities, protecting their operations, reputation, and compliance. ISACA NJ Chapter will hold a virtual training event on TPRM. (Third Party Risk Management Program) Please register by the link: https://cvent.me/2ZOWZ1 ?? ??????????

NJISACA program committee held one hour seminar for those who are interested in becoming Cybersecurity certified assessor (CCA). CMMC certification (CCA) is required for companies that want to do business with the DoD and other U.S. government agencies, especially those that handle CUI or FCI. The goal is to improve the overall cybersecurity posture of the defense industrial base and reduce the risks of cyber-attacks targeting sensitive defense information. Here’s a breakdown of the general requirements to become a CMMC Certified Assessor (CCA): 1. Understand CMMC Framework and Standards ? CMMC Knowledge: You need a strong understanding of the CMMC model itself, including the requirements for each of the five maturity levels (Level 1 to Level 5), as well as the underlying standards and guidelines (e.g., NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53). ? Cybersecurity Concepts: In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, and control systems will also be required. 2. Meet Education and Experience Criteria ? Educational Background: While there is no specific degree required, a background in information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field is highly preferred. ? Certifications: Having certifications like Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or similar credentials will help demonstrate your expertise. 3. Complete CMMC Training Program 4. Pass the CMMC Assessor Exam Allen Ureta; deltamine; David Cheng
