??With the Mayor’s Inclusionary Zoning Proposal being passed by the Pittsburgh Planning Commision, and now heading to City Council for final approval, I wanted to highlight a component of the proposal that we at Irwin CC are excited about…. ADU’s! An accessory dwelling unit (ADU) is a residential dwelling unit that is accessory or secondary to a primary residential dwelling unit. We will dive into the code implications and the pro’s and cons of ADU’s over the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

?? End of Year Report As we look at the data from the past year, it’s evident that there is a significant gap of information during a real estate transaction within the City of Pittsburgh. Findings include the fact that nearly 24% of active real estate transactions had open permits leading up to closing. Our BZC Report provides information that is critical to the due diligence process. Without the full permit status of a property buyers can inherit issues that are not only costly, but can also have legal ramifications. Read the full report and findings below. ?????? As we reflect on 2024, we can't help but be thankful for the relationships we built, the clients we helped, and the fun we had along the way. We grew all facets of the business, and we also welcomed a Master Code Professional to our staff. As much as we love to reflect, we are extremely excited for what's ahead in 2025. Not only are we adding more technology and infrastructure to continue our assent to become Pittsburgh's go-to Building Code Consulting Firm, but we are expanding with a new acquisition in the works.
