The International Right of Way Association is a professional member organization of global infrastructure real estate practitioners. Since its inception as a not-for-profit association in 1934, IRWA has served professionals who acquire, manage and transfer the land rights needed for building and maintaining energy and transportation infrastructure. Region 6 is famous for its southern hospitality and memorable culinary experiences. From Florida’s sugar-white beaches to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina, Reg. 6 offers some of the most diverse tourist attractions in the USA, including Disney World, the Great Smokey Mountains National Park, the Georgia Aquarium, the lovely charms of historic Savannah and Charleston, and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN, home of the 2016 IRWA International Conference. Congratulations Greg Thompson SR/WA-TN for earning your SR/WA, the preeminent right of way professional designation. And congratulations to IRWA Chapter 40 for adding another SR/WA to their membership.
After completing over 280 hours of classroom education since beginning in 2015, and having successfully negotiated hundreds of right of way acquisition files I'm proud to share that I have been designated Senior Right of Way Agent - Transportation in the International Right of Way Association. My gratitude begins with the Right of Way International Education Foundation who granted me the Leaders Light the Way Scholarship in 2022. Next is James Turner, MAI who introduced me to the profession and gave me opportunity to help him establish and grow Integrated Right of Way - iROW. Without the professional and personal mentorship and unique encouragement from Anthony Alderman, CRE?, SR/WA, FRICS I would have lost my bearings and been deterred.
