Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for all of the wonderful humans who made last night's Rebel For Good event, in partnership with The Etheridge Foundation and UC Irvine, at the beautiful Irvine Barclay Theatre so magical ??? Even with all of the events I've hosted across my career, this one was so special because of the open hearts and minds each person brought to this difficult conversation on how we can bring transformative healing to one of America's most devastating epidemics: the opioid crisis??. We were so honored to start our event off with a special performance from Jackson Rolling Thunder Tahuka of the Acjachemen Nation?who truly gave us new life with his song, his dance and his words of wisdom (and reminded me of my Ishskwaday days ??????). Our expert panel, moderated by the amazing Anna Symonds, then shared their insights into breakthrough treatments for opioid use disorder—thank you to Allison Feduccia, PhD, Christopher Nicholas and Jonathan H. Watanabe for your compassionate candor ??. We were then treated to a special fireside chat, moderated by the incredible Joe Williams-Greenberg, where Melissa Etheridge opened up about how she transformed the unspeakable pain of losing her son, Beckett, into a powerful force for transformative healing through the power of plant medicines??.
