This is a role that requires strategic thinking, creative energy, and a hands-on commitment to getting the work done. The Development Team is responsible for generating roughly half of Irvine’s annual revenue. In close collaboration with the Executive Director, this role will develop and execute the giving strategies to reach individual donors, corporate supporters, and funding from grants and foundations. Experience driving a capital campaign is helpful. A passion for the environment and education are paramount. For young professionals looking to forge a career in the environmental field, here are two incredible programs to consider. The Chesapeake Conservation & Climate Corps (CCCC) and the Maryland Climate Corps (MCC) are accepting applications for 2025-26 fellowships. Through these amazing programs, young people ages 18-25 are placed with organizations across the state of Maryland for a term of stipend-supported service. During the programs, young professionals are provided with hands-on experience, crucial skill-building opportunities, a support system of other young professionals, leadership & professional development training, project management experience, and key connections within the environmental field. Positions offered by the Host Organizations are in the fields of environmental restoration, community engagement, climate change, environmental education, sustainable agriculture, energy conservation, and forestry. Both programs are a great way to launch an environmental career! Irvine is one of many potential host organizations and we are hopeful to be matched with a fellow.
