?? Reflecting on IROS 2024 ?? As we wrap up IROS 2024, I’m filled with mixed emotions—primarily pride and joy! Hosting this prestigious event is a significant milestone for our university and the entire region. But this is just the beginning; we aspire to become the go-to technology hub and make hosting such events the norm. A heartfelt thank you to all the speakers, organizers(shout out to our amazing Khalifa communication department), authors, and competitors who contributed hugely to the success of IROS 2024 ! I would especially like to acknowledge Prof. Jorge Dias for bringing IROS to Abu Dhabi. Your vision inspires the next generation of robotics enthusiasts and paves the way for future innovations. I’m honored (and humbled) to have been part of the organizing team, collaborating with some of the greatest minds in the field. In addition to supporting the organization, I had the pleasure of attending inspiring forums and workshops ( huge thanks for the amazing program to prof. Cecilia Laschi ). In addition, I was supporting our Khalifa University team as they were the only team representing the UAE in the F1Tenth Foundation competition(we will come back stronger). Last Thursday, I had the incredible honor of being awarded the prestigious IROS Toshio Fukuda Young Professional Award. I am deeply proud of the passion and dedication I’ve invested to push the boundaries of aerial robotic manipulation, a journey that has led to this recognition. This achievement would not have been possible without the invaluable contributions of many. A heartfelt thank you to all my students, collaborators, and, of course, my family. Your support, and hard work have been essential in reaching this milestone. Yesterday #IROS #IROS2024 IROS 2024 came to an end! Thanks to all the amazing contributors, great conversations, talks, keynotes and insights! I am grateful for the opportunity to meet so many great and talented people! Looking forward to scanning through all the works in detail! One thing I definitely learned: Robotics is evolving faster than ever these days, with the opportunity to build upon great scientific works and products that were unheard of even a few years back. Thanks to all that came to my poster and presentation on Thursday, and hope to see you soon!

Just wrapped up an incredible time at IROS 2024 in Abu Dhabi, surrounded by thousands of fellow innovators! ?? I presented our work on real-time model-based navigation for fixed-wing drones, developed with Gabriel Laupré and Jan Skaloud.
