?? The Merits of Investing in Organic Farmland ?? In the March issue of Alternative Investor Portal, our CEO, Christopher Zuehlsdorff, explores why investing in organic farmland is an exciting opportunity with immense potential for those looking to make a meaningful impact while achieving solid returns. "The potential for growth is both economically attractive and aligned with the increasing demand for food produced with stronger environmental and human health outcomes. According to the Organic Trade Association, organic grocery sales outpaced non-organic by more than a 2-to-1 margin. Consistent organic price premiums lead to higher farm profitability." ?? Our charitable affiliate, the Healing Soils Foundation, is doing important work to help farmers stay afloat in these turbulent times. We urge you to lend your support and share with your networks!
?? Announcing the Regenerative Farmer Assurance Fund (RFAF) ?? Right now, farmers across the Midwest are facing an urgent financial crisis due to federal funding delays, freezes, and bureaucratic slowdowns. These farmers rely on critical conservation and infrastructure grants to sustain their land, grow food, and invest in regenerative practices that restore soil health, protect water resources, and build climate resilience. But with delayed funding and continued uncertainty, many are being forced to take on unnecessary financial risks just to keep farming and projects going. At Healing Soils Foundation (HSF), we refuse to let government inaction threaten the future of regenerative and organic agriculture. That’s why we’re stepping up with the Regenerative Farmer Assurance Fund (RFAF)—a lifeline for farmers waiting on delayed reimbursements or frozen programs. How RFAF Works: ? Farmers facing reimbursement delays can apply for an emergency grant to cover essential expenses. ? If the expected funding arrives, the grant is repaid, keeping the fund sustainable for other farmers in need. ? If the reimbursement never comes, the grant converts to direct aid, ensuring that farmers aren’t left with an unfair financial burden. ?? Farmers—Apply Now! If you are an organic or regenerative farmer experiencing delays in federal reimbursements from EQIP, CSP, RFSI, or other conservation grant programs, you may be eligible for an RFAF emergency grant. Don’t wait—apply today! ?? https://lnkd.in/g-_ryTPz ?? How You Can Help: Our work relies on donors and partners to help us grow this critical fund. With your support, we can: ? Ensure farmers stay financially stable while waiting for reimbursements ? Keep conservation and regenerative agriculture projects moving forward ? Build a sustainable revolving fund that continues to support farmers long-term ?? Join Us in Taking Action! Farmers shouldn’t have to bear the burden of government inaction alone. With your help, we can ensure they have the financial security they need to keep growing, regenerating soil, and strengthening our food system. ?? Donate Today: https://lnkd.in/eJCcy78F ?? “Farmland loss isn’t rapid, but it’s continuous,” Smidt says; nor is it limited to coastal areas with large population growth. Rural states with top-quality land, such as Kansas and Iowa, also are losing ground... What does this mean for farming’s next generation? A tough row to hoe for those without family help." At Iroquois Valley, we know patient capital's vital role in supporting young farmers to ensure that farmland stays farmland. This recent article by Successful Farming outlines some of the biggest hurdles for farmers in the current transfer of agricultural land from one generation to the next: https://lnkd.in/esmxRYzr #IroquoisValley?#FarmersFirst?#StrategicGrowth?#ESG?#OrganicInvesting?#InvestingForImpact?#OrganicFarming?#RegenerativeFarming?#FamilyFarm?#SustainableAgriculture?#FarmlandTransition?#SustainableAgriculture?#Organic?#OrganicFood?#RegenerativeAgriculturalTransition?#ImpactInvesting

?? Check out this great local spotlight on Rayfield Meat Center, a beloved country store and USDA-inspected processing facility in the heart of North Carolina owned by our farmers, Shawn and Jennifer Hatley of Eli's Ridge. . Shawn and Jennifer are fourth-generation farmers in Oakboro, a suburb of Charlotte, who raise sheep, pigs, cows, ducks, and chickens with their sons, Blake and Eli. Their farm is Animal Welfare Approved and employs organic, regenerative farming principles with perennial pasture and forest-based farming systems (also known as silvopasture). . As Iroquois Valley’s first investment in North Carolina, we partnered on their purchase of a 108-acre property from Shawn’s father, David Hatley,?enabling the younger generation of Hatleys to expand operations and take on ownership of their father’s land.
