If you own a safe with an electronic lock that takes 9v batteries it's important to know these few tips. 1: Always use a good name brand battery due to generic brands do not pull true 9 volts or holds 9 volts long enough to accuate the motor or solenoid to open the lock. 2: Change the batteries ever 6 months to a year. 3: The news findings is that the Duracell battery with the stripes on the copper top do not function properly in safe locks. You can use Duracell pro (black and gray) Duracell solid copper top or just stick with energizer batteries. 4: If you are punching in your code and the lock is making noise but doesnt open try changing your batteries first before calling a locksmith/safe tech. 5: If you are locked out of a safe no mater the brand or style of lock a professional locksmith should be able to gain access to the safe and make repairs. If anyone tells you they have to destroy the safe that is your first red flag.

Customer requested the ability to lock the door from the inside via key. Luckily they already had a classroom function Schlage mortise lock, so they didn't have to replace the hardware I just had to drill an additional hole on the inside of the door install a new mortar cylinder now they can lock the door from the outside and they can lock it from the inside and still have free egress. Granite it is a glass door so the lock is only going to keep honest people out but it made the customer feel comfortable that they can lock the door from the inside without having to open it in case of an emergency. They did have some issues with the lock before I arrived on site, like a stripped spanner nut on the inside handle but everything I was able to repair and save them money.
