Dear Marketing Applicants, It is very low hanging fruit to leverage the opportunity of creating a hook in the initial email with your resume attached. If you are applying for a management role in the marketing department you should know what a hook is and that it is imperative when selling anything, including your skills. 1. research the company and make it clear that you did by including details as to why you're excited about the possibility of working for the company in the position you are seeking. 2. If possible note the brand voice of the company and use similar messaging in your email. Exampe: If, like us, it is a brand with a warm and casual familiar tone don't email with an overly formal corporate tone. 3. In marketing visuals are a vital piece, your resume should be professional, but not boring. Have some visual appeal to it and please, always include a picture. 4. I should have put this one first, but I don't have time to rewrite or edit this, lol. FOLLOW the instructions on the job posting! If we say to email the resume don't EASY APPLY through linked in. We narrowed it down to 50 out of 900 resumes just by not including any easy apply resumes. Out of 900 applicants, so far none of them have done all of the above.
