We raised $3.25 million and honored three-time Academy Award winner and 21-time nominee Meryl Streep at Friday night’s 25th Annual #SpiritOfIrelandGala at Pier 60. The actor, who has ancestral roots in Donegal, was celebrated for her astonishing artistry and cultural influence as we gathered support for our own future contributions to the New York and American cultural landscapes. We also celebrated longtime KPMG executive Shaun T. Kelly CBE at the conclusion of his five-year tenure as IAC Board Chair, during which time we completed and opened our $60 million landmark new facility amid a global pandemic. Declan O'Rourke, a longtime IAC collaborator whose expansive musical storytelling resonates with our own uplifting of both tradition and innovation, performed during the event, as did singer/songwriter Sean Kiely with Sean Kiely and Friends. Special guest Senator George Mitchell—architect of the Good Friday Agreement and recently the subject of Lyric Theatre, Belfast's acclaimed?#Agreement?at IAC—gave a moving speech reinforcing the links between America’s immigrant traditions and its spirit of innovation and heralding IAC’s role as a bridge between Ireland and the United States. Heartfelt thanks to everyone, especially Lead Sponsors Kea Capel and Robert J. McCann, Kate and Bob Devlin, and Kathleen and Michael Dowling, who helped us raise the funds to support our annual programming and operations, and our next phase of growth: the redevelopment of our original 51st Street home, next door to the cutting-edge building opened in December 2021, where we have presented more than 600 artists to more than 50,000 audiences in the past three years. ???Nir Arieli
