Some of our IQ team members recently had the opportunity to visit one of our local machine tool vendors to dive deeper into Swiss Machining. It was an exciting experience that gave us valuable insights into how these machines could unlock new efficiencies and capabilities. Here are some key takeaways from our visit: - Tighter tolerances & reduced waste: allowing for more accurate part production with minimal scrap, ideal for complex geometries. - Lights-out manufacturing potential: with automated bar feeders and continuous operation, Swiss machines can run unattended, increasing productivity. - Quicker Turnarounds: reducing setups translates into faster delivery times for tight-deadline projects, an advantage that aligns perfectly with our customer demands.

With 50 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, Bob's passion remains as strong as ever. Having worked in various tool and die repair departments, he retired after 40 years, only to return shortly after. What brought him back? Thursday IMTS Recap: Our team went in separate directions this day. We all had a few things to do at the show in different halls. Our Chief Operating Officer went back to the East Hall to check out some automated solutions we plan to implement on our shop floor soon. Wednesday IMTS Recap: Our team started off the morning by attending a meeting with our quoting software company. We had a few things to address and had some questions on how we can make the program more useful to us with added features. Our Director of Marketing stopped and caught up with some familiar faces from LinkedIn on the way to another meeting. Then, our team, walked all the way over to the INDEX Corporation booth in the South Hall to get a walkthrough of the machinery they were showcasing. Tuesday IMTS Recap: Our Director of Marketing was up bright and early this day to head over to the IMTS+ Creators Louge. She was a guest host speaker for the Tuesday morning kickoff, along with the other hosts that were in the Creators Lounge all week long. During this kick-off, they discussed what they saw at the show the day prior, what they were looking forward to, women in manufacturing, and more. The IQ Manufacturing team met up after this to walk around the East Hall some more. Then we made our way over to South Hall to explore some of the machine tools. We chatted with some industry professionals, met up with a few of our sales reps in our area and got to see some cool technology in action. Later than night we joined a dinner cruise that was put on by SMEC Machine Tools. Monday Recap of IMTS: It was the first day of the show and we went in with a long list of booths to go visit and people to see. The IQ team spent a lot of time in the East Hall looking at software. There are a few things we are looking to implement here on our floor, so we saw a ton of demo's, got some good information, and met some intelligent people. Our Director of Marketing attended the Women Make Manufacturing Move Event. This event was packed with women in the manufacturing field. Good connections and conversations were formed here. Later than evening we had a dinner with one of our customers.
