Ever wonder how fast (or slow) Silicon Valley-based companies respond when you offer them a win-win partnership? I contacted 10 different teams with a proposal that would benefit them more than it’d benefit me. And guess what I discovered? Speed ?is everything. Most of them took their sweet time (!) getting back—until one team stood out from the crowd: Marina F. and Alex Muntyan from iPnote. While others were still deciding, they’d already jumped in and started executing. We’re now halfway into our collaboration, while the rest are just warming up! And here’s the really cool part: ?????Alex is from Spain ????Marina is from Hungary ???? I’m from Bangladesh Despite coming from three different countries, our collaboration is seamless and inspiring. The lesson? If you’re serious about partnerships, respond quickly and show you value the relationship. Speed can make all the difference—especially in a world where everyone is just a click (or a DM) away. Big shout-out to the incredible iPnote team for setting the bar so high. I can’t wait to see where this partnership takes us. What’s your take on the importance of responsiveness in business relationships? Let me know in the comments!

How Can You Oppose a Trademark Registration in Spain? If you believe a trademark application in Spain conflicts with your existing rights, you have the right to oppose it. As our partner Javier Serrano Irurzun explains: "You can file an opposition within two months from the publication date of the trademark in the Spanish Trademarks Bulletin. The opposition must be based on legitimate grounds, such as prior trademark rights, the likelihood of confusion, or the mark being descriptive. If successful, the application may be refused, or the applicant may be required to modify their trademark." Protecting your brand starts with monitoring new applications and acting quickly when conflicts arise. #TrademarkOpposition #SpainIP #IntellectualProperty #BrandProtection #LegalStrategy

Navigating the Design Registration Process in Mexico: Key Steps & Best Practices Securing design protection in Mexico grants exclusive rights and strengthens market competitiveness. Here’s what you need to know: - Novelty is crucial – ensure your design hasn’t been publicly disclosed. - Aesthetic vs. Functional – designs must be ornamental, not dictated purely by function. - Preliminary search – helps identify potential conflicts before filing. - Essential documents – include high-quality drawings, a detailed description, and a priority claim if applicable. - Application filing with IMPI – the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI) handles design registrations. - Examination & publication – if no objections arise, your design will be granted protection. - Validity & renewal – initial protection lasts five years, renewable up to 25 years. - International protection – Mexico adheres to global agreements like the Paris Convention. Filing a PCT National Phase Application in India: Key Deadlines India requires PCT national phase entry within 31 months from the priority date—missing this deadline leads to abandonment. Key requirements include English translations, priority documents, and forms (Form 1, Form 3, and Form 26). The Request for Examination (RFE) must also be filed within this period. Online filing is faster, and startups, individuals, and small entities get up to 80% fee reductions. Common pitfalls include missed deadlines, incomplete documentation, and incorrect fees. Patents are published at 18 months, and responses to examination objections are due within six months (extendable by three months). Read more: https://lnkd.in/g37khThc Need assistance? Can You Register a Trademark for a Descriptive Name in Spain? Thinking of trademarking a purely descriptive name in Spain? It’s not that simple. As our partner Javier Serrano Irurzun explains: "No, you cannot register a purely descriptive term, in relation to the goods and services covered, as a trademark in Spain. A trademark must be distinctive and capable of identifying the source of specific goods or services." For example, “Delicious Bread” for a bakery wouldn’t qualify because it merely describes the product. Trademarks must be unique enough to set your brand apart from competitors. Exception: If you can prove that your brand has gained distinctiveness through long-term, widespread use, you may still have a chance to register it. Need help ensuring your trademark is distinctive and legally strong in Spain? Plan ahead and protect your brand! #TrademarkLaw #BrandIdentity #SpainIP #BusinessProtection #DistinctiveBranding

Trademark protection isn’t forever—in Spain, it lasts 10 years from the filing date. But what if you forget to renew it? As our partner Javier Serrano Irurzun explains: "If you do not renew your trademark registration in Spain before it expires, your trademark will lose its legal protection. Others may be able to register a similar or identical mark, and you could lose exclusive rights to your trademark in Spain." ?How to Avoid Losing Your Trademark: - Keep track of renewal deadlines - File the renewal up to 6 months before expiry - Use the 6-month grace period if you miss the deadline (with an extra fee) Losing a trademark can mean losing your brand identity in Spain. Stay proactive and protect what’s yours! #TrademarkRenewal #BrandProtection #SpainBusiness #IntellectualProperty #IPStrategy

Can I Register a Trademark in Spain if It’s Not in Spanish? Expanding your brand into Spain but worried about the language of your trademark? Good news! As our partner Javier Serrano Irurzun explains: "Yes, you can register a trademark in Spain even if it is not in Spanish. It’s important to ensure that the trademark does not conflict with existing trademarks in Spain and does not incur in possible absolute grounds of refusal, irrespective of its language." This means that your brand name can be in any language, as long as it meets Spain’s trademark regulations. A comprehensive trademark search and legal assessment are essential to avoid conflicts and ensure successful registration. Want to protect your brand in Spain? Start with the right trademark strategy! #TrademarkProtection #GlobalBranding #SpainIP #BusinessExpansion #LegalInsights

Understanding the Nice Classification for Trademark Registration in Spain When registering a trademark in Spain, one key factor to consider is the Nice Classification—an international system that categorizes goods and services into 45 different classes (34 for goods and 11 for services). ?? Why does this matter? Selecting the right class(es) ensures that your trademark is protected in the correct sector, helping prevent conflicts and strengthening your legal standing. As our partner Javier Serrano Irurzun explains: "When applying for a trademark in Spain, you must specify which class(es) your trademark will cover. This ensures that the trademark is registered for the correct sector and helps determine the scope of its protection." For businesses expanding into Spain, understanding the Nice Classification is crucial for securing trademark rights and avoiding legal issues. #IntellectualProperty #TrademarkRegistration #NiceClassification #IPStrategy #SpainBusiness
