Yesterday, IPH team members Skylin Baestlein and Meghan Meyerson, MSW had the incredible opportunity to join Neon One for Generosity XChange 2024! ?? They participated in a live-coaching session led by Michelle Shireen Muri, where they completed a community mapping exercise grounded in the principles of the Community-Centric Fundraising movement. This hands on experience gave us fresh insights into building authentic relationships with our supporters and fostering a greater sense of belonging across our community. Thank you Neon One and Tim Sarrantonio for inviting us to be a part of this impactful event. #GX24

This winter, IPH will be shifting our focus in Fulton County to a new, transformative project. While we won't be operating our Code Blue shelter, Safe Haven - Gloversville, this year, we're excited to share that we're working to acquire 47 single room occupancy units from the Fulton County YMCA. These units will provide permanent, supportive, and affordable housing to neighbors who need it most, offering long-term stability and resources that go beyond what a seasonal shelter can provide. With 27 of these units currently vacant and being prepared for new residents, we hope that many of the people who would have stayed at Safe Haven - Gloversville will instead find permanent housing through this new IPH program. This shift allows us to continue focusing on sustainable solutions that truly address the root causes of homelessness. We're proud to strengthen our commitment to the Fulton County community and beyond, ensuring more people have a place to call home.

Meet Jennifer Ivery, Senior Director of Program Administration! ?? Jennifer joined IPH earlier this year bringing with her extensive experience and a deep passion for supporting those experiencing homelessness, Jennifer is a fantastic addition to our team. Jennifer is inspired by our Community Connections program, which offers vital support like laundry facilities, showers, meals, and case management. She also appreciates the impact of our harm reduction program and Code Blue shelter. Jennifer is eager to see these programs grow in services and supports. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys spending quality time with her family and volunteering in the community to provide meals to individuals in need. Join us in welcoming Jennifer to the IPH family. Meet Yaa Armah, Massry Fellow at IPH Community Connections!? This summer, Yaa is working to enhance IPH's Albany Ambassadors employment initiative and apply her academic knowledge to real-world challenges under the guidance of IPH leadership at Community Connections. ?An inspiring, international student from Ghana pursuing her PhD in Educational Policy & Leadership at University at Albany-SUNY. Yaa's journey led her to the Massry Community Service Fellowship Program, which offers students like her the chance to dive into the inner workings of non-profits and gain valuable hands-on experience.? From the moment she joined IPH, Yaa felt embraced by its warm, non-judgmental atmosphere. She resonates deeply with IPH's commitment to kindness and second chances, which reflects her personal mission to, "give back kindness to all."? IPH extends heartfelt gratitude to Yaa for her hard work and dedication. We wish her all the best as she continues to make a positive impact in our community and beyond and to the Massry Family for their generosity, which makes this partnership possible!

We are beyond thrilled to share that IPH will be receiving the proceeds from Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady's first Farmers Market of the year! ?? A huge thank you to Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady and their amazing team, especially Sean Wyse, for recognizing the work we do and supporting our mission. Your generosity and commitment to uplift our community is truly inspiring!
Our first Team Member Farmers Market of 2024 was a huge success! Team Members were able to buy from a selection of fresh, top-shelf fruits and vegetables – plus a variety of delicious pickles. The best part: 100% of the proceeds goes to a local charitable organization. This month’s recipient is IPH - a leader in providing services to homeless and at-risk individuals and families. #RiversGives #FarmersMarket

Meet Tiana Minervini! We welcomed Tiana as the Program Director for South Ferry House and Ahana House in February. “After nearly 15 years of working with the unsheltered population doing street outreach, I find it a privilege if an individual chooses to come to South Ferry.... and stays. That says that my team and I are providing a space where people feel safe and supported. As the Program Director for both Ahana House and South Ferry Shelter, it's important to me that I provide an environment where the teams feel supported in this beautiful, yet challenging work they do daily. “

Thank you Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady! Staff from the casino in Schenectady donated more than $3,700 worth of uniforms, business casual, and professional clothing to IPH's Clothing Pantry at our Community Connections drop-in center this morning.
