I’m thrilled to announce I’ll be speaking in a panel discussion titled “XR and AI in Defense” at the upcoming Annual VR/AR Association (VRARA) Central Florida Immersive Technology Summit on April 10th at 2 PM at the Central Florida Tech Grove. The United States Air Force has faced on-going pilot production challenges and has led the Defense Modeling, Simulation & Training charge to address this challenge via application of #XR and #AI and via the #PilotTrainingNext (#PTN) and production-scale #PilotTrainingTransformation (#PTT) programs. Over the years I had the great honor of working with many incredible and dedicated personnel at the 19AF and Detachment 24 and acting as the architect of many of the on-premises XR training systems used in these federated programs. The application of XR and AI, paired with modern #competency-based learning models, has the potential to: 1) increase #PilotProduction and mission execution safety 2) enable a scalable and adaptable training ecosystem for the full spectrum of the pilot training pipeline 3) allow for optimized resource allocation and lower training costs The panel discussion will cover how XR and AI technologies are transforming the way that DoD and National Security agencies are doing business. From systems development and manufacturing, to intelligence gathering and analysis, to facility operations and personnel training XR technology is being integrated into the fabric of daily operations. This panel will discuss trends in the DoD and discuss specific programs and use cases that have paved the way for widespread adoption. First Place Finish! iPerformX is proud to announce our #firstplace finish in the Air Force Agency for Modeling & Simulation (AFAMS) #artificialintelligence Prize Challenge. AFAMS and Central Florida Tech Grove, sought innovative AI-driven solutions to address critical personnel #training challenges through a revolutionary Immersive Technology Planning Application (ITPA) concept. The goal is to develop an AI-native architecture and prototype capable of automating market scans, gathering, cataloging, and assessing data on immersive technologies and integrating diverse evaluation and implementation feedback. The challenged aimed to revolutionize how the United States Air Force identifies, evaluates, and implements immersive training technologies, ensuring faster, higher-quality training solutions to address evolving mission needs and sustain technological relevance over time. iPerformX leveraged its industry-leading expertise in intuitive user interface design, web-application development, #cloud and #cybersecurity, immersive technologies, as well as the latest scalable AI approaches to implement a #firstplace ITPA concept. #iPerformX is proud to continue to serve the leading advanced training technology development and scaling efforts within US pilot training communities and the broader DoD. With data-driven magic and insight profound, Santa’s efficiency and satisfaction were unbound. Low-cost Immersive Training Devices #ITDs and similar #XR technologies have the potential to revolutionize military and civilian training by enabling the self-paced, #adaptive, and #competency-based learning approaches towards which instructional innovation is moving. However, there’s a catch – a lack of supervision can lead to negative training. My son “gracefully” demonstrated this at a recent industry event while serving as the demo pilot for a training capable F-35 simulator. The image speaks for itself regarding how he chose to make use of this technology without an instructor pilot standing over his shoulder.
