Last but not least, we wanted to highlight one of our first-year members, Kaitlyn Fuerst, for her attendance at #ACHECongress2024. "My recent participation in the ACHE Congress has proven to be incredibly rewarding and insightful. As a first-year MHA student, I approached the event with a sense of uncertainty, unsure of what to anticipate. However, the experience surpassed my expectations. I had the privilege of connecting with fellow MHA students from across the nation, as well as professionals from nationally recognized healthcare organizations. The sessions I attended were particularly enriching, focusing on topics aligned with my interests, such as strategies for addressing behavioral health challenges and optimizing emergency department services for behavioral health patients. Since leaving ACHE, I have been inspired by the impactful work being undertaken in healthcare leadership. This experience has me eager to see what is to come in my future career!" Kaitlyn will head to Utah this summer to complete her internship with Intermountain Health at Logan Regional Hospital. We wish you all the best, Kaitlyn, and thank you for being a proud member of ISAHL!

We're excited to highlight another of our second-year MHA students,?Adriana Kotchkoski, for her engagement at?#ACHECongress2024. ? "The ACHE Congress this year was truly enlightening, with multiple sessions leaving a lasting impact on me. In particular, discussions around the "fierce urgency of now" and the concept of our 'North Star' in healthcare leadership stood out. These sessions emphasized the need for immediate, proactive action in our field, while also guiding us towards maintaining a clear, overarching vision amidst the complexities of healthcare administration. I'm incredibly grateful to have attended and gained such invaluable insights as I move forward in my fellowship and career." ? Last summer, Adriana completed her internship with the Nihon Keiei Group in Osaka, Japan, and she was able to reconnect with her preceptor and others from her internship at The University of Iowa Health Management & Policy Department alumni reception in Chicago. ? Thank you, Adriana, for your engagement with ISAHL, and we're thrilled you enjoyed your Congress experience!

ACHE Congress Student Spotlight! ?? Alexandria Colella, a second-year MHA student, had the opportunity to attend #ACHECongress2024 in Chicago where she soaked up knowledge and made invaluable connections with industry leaders and peers alike. "I had an unforgettable experience at the ACHE 2024 Congress on Healthcare Leadership! Serving as a program assistant, I had the privilege of volunteering at the event, gaining a unique behind-the-scenes perspective while connecting with fellow students. One of the standout sessions for me was “Hot Topic: How Disruptors Are Transforming Healthcare Access and Affordability.” Panelists discussed the evolving healthcare delivery models and the disruptive influence of retailers, providing insights into the profound implications these changes hold for the U.S. healthcare system. As an individual with a keen entrepreneurial spirit in healthcare, I found this discussion particularly stimulating. I'm grateful for this enriching experience and the invaluable connections I made, and eager to apply newfound insights to drive positive change in healthcare." Alexa's enthusiasm and dedication to continuous learning and professional development exemplifies the spirit of ISAHL and what we strive to foster as a student organization. Thank you Alexa for being a valued member of ISAHL!

What a week attending the ACHE 2024 Congress: Big Ideas Conference. Our students, faculty, and staff had such a valuable, impactful, and insightful time at this year’s?American College of Healthcare Executives?Congress Conference in Chicago this past week! We had the honor of being awarded the 2024 ACHE Higher Education Network Award. The award recognizes one graduate and one undergraduate program annually that demonstrates the highest level of ACHE engagement. As always, it was an amazing experience to attend sessions, connect with both current and future leaders, and collaborate with healthcare programs across the nation. Thank you to all the presenters, event staff, and volunteers for making this such a successful conference. We look forward to next year!
