ISHA received an email from @Jennifer Konfrst, Iowa House Democratic Leader, regarding HF 2612, the bill overhauling the Area Education Agencies (AEAs). Rep. Konfrst and her Democratic colleagues wanted you to know that they hear you, see you and agree with you. Her office shared this graphic which attempts to summarize the 49 pages of changes made to the bill. Here's what you can do to stay engaged, keep supporting Iowa kids, and hold lawmakers who supported this bill accountable: 1. Join the Advocates for Iowa's Children private Facebook group to join your fellow Iowans who care about AEAs and learn about ways to stay active as this bill gets implemented starting this summer. https://bit.ly/3U9a3VJ 2. Email Rep. Konfrst directly at [email protected] anytime you hear about cutbacks of staff, money, or services at local AEAs. 3. Engage with the task force being created to study our AEAs later this year.
