A BIG shout out to Katie Shields on her 19th anniversary with ISCPA! She’s done it ALL in her time with the Society, from receptionist to her senior leadership role. In addition to identifying, negotiating and scheduling CPE offerings and conferences, she keeps the ship running behind the scenes including staff meetings, technology updates, budgeting, and more. She’s well-respected among state society peers and a vital member of the ISCPA team. Congratulations! #workanniversary

Congratulations to longtime member and past ISCPA president, Ted Lodden for receiving the 2024 William H. Van Rensselaer Public Service Award. Presented by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), the award recognizes individuals who have contributed to the development of a new program, improvement of a current program for the Boards of Accountancy, or who have influenced passage of rules or statutes to strengthen accountancy regulations. As a member of the NASBA Board of Directors, Lodden served as a Central regional director, director-at-large, and as chair of the association from 2016-2017. He is the former chair of the NASBA Continuing Professional Education Committee, where he established a joint task force composed of NASBA, AICPA, CPE providers and educators to review the CPE Standards. He also served on NASBA’s Administration and Finance, Bylaws, Nominating, Awards, Regulatory Response, Audit, Communications and Relations with Member Boards committees. His dedication to the profession continues, as he currently is a member of the NASBA Uniform Accountancy Act Committee and Past Chair Advisory Council as well as a member of the ISCPA Legislation committee.
