?? I am thrilled to share that our new journal paper, "P-AgNav: Range View-Based Autonomous Navigation System for Cornfields," has been recently published in IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L) and is now available in Early Access on IEEE Xplore! ???? In this publication, we introduce P-AgNav, an autonomous navigation system designed specifically for ground robots to navigate under-canopy and in-row cornfield environments. Our system primarily utilizes range-view images from a 3D LiDAR, enabling collision avoidance with crops and row switching without relying on GNSS or pre-defined waypoints. Our navigation system extracts meaningful features from range-view images, and it enhances the robot's environmental understanding and provides appropriate motion control for successful agricultural task completion. ?? If you are interested in our work, feel free to check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gmGDp8-i I am deeply grateful for the support of my advisor Prof. Dave Cappelleri, my colleague Aarya Deb, and U.S. NSF Internet of Things for Precision Agriculture (IoT4Ag). Also, a special thank you to our reviewers and editor for their valuable feedback. #IEEE #RAL #Robotics

Had a great time presenting at OATSCON (Open Ag Technology and System Center Conference) on an open-source, user-centric nitrogen fertilizer recommendation tool for corn production (OPTICORN). This tool helps farmers optimize nitrogen use through data-driven, accessible solutions, promoting both productivity and sustainability. I also had the opportunity to meet and attend presentations by amazing speakers driving innovation in open ag tech. OATS Center is shaping the future of precision farming, and I’m excited to be part of this journey. #OATSCON #OpenAgTech #PrecisionAg #SustainableFarming Digital and Advanced Agricultural Systems Purdue University U.S. NSF Internet of Things for Precision Agriculture (IoT4Ag)
