Over the last 50 years, Investigative Reporters & Editors has brought together journalists to share story ideas, newsgathering techniques and best practices. We've hosted dozens of national conferences, trained thousands of journalists, and collected an archive of 35,000+ reporting resources. But our story's just getting started — and we need your help to keep going. IRE relies on the generous support of sponsors and donors to provide vital training and mentorship to journalists around the world. If you would like to see us advance our mission, please consider making a donation to our end-of-year giving campaign. Our goal is to raise $50,000 before the start of 2025. Will you help us get there? ?? Make a contribution now, or encourage a loved one to make a donation in your name: https://lnkd.in/gcs59N3P ??? ?Meet Daniela Ibarra, a member of our 2025 Chauncey Bailey Journalist of Color Investigative Reporting Fellowship program! ? Based in her hometown of San Antonio, Texas, Daniela is an award-winning investigative reporter at KSAT. Previously, she worked at KTUL in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where her reporting was credited with changing state law, and KTXS in Abilene, Texas. She has also served on the national boards of Society of Professional Journalists and NAHJ (National Association of Hispanic Journalists). Daniela graduated from University of North Texas and is the proud daughter of Ecuadorian immigrants. As part of IRE’s Chauncey Bailey fellowship, she will work on a yearlong investigative reporting project. Daniela’s investigation will focus on how — among more than 400,000 teachers and staff members who work in Texas public schools — some have been injured by students. She will start locally, and then zoom out to see statewide impacts and what it means for the education workforce. Learn more about Daniela and her project: https://lnkd.in/ghqGJhdP Congratulations, Daniela! #Journalism #InvestigativeJournalism #Texas #Education #Fellowship

?? Meet José Ignacio Casta?eda Perez, a member of our 2025 Chauncey Bailey Journalist of Color Investigative Reporting Fellowship program! ?? Based in Wilmington, Delaware, José Ignacio is an award-winning reporter with Spotlight Delaware, a nonprofit community-powered newsroom in the First State. Originally from Salamanca, Guanajuato, Mexico, José Ignacio covered nearly 400 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border for the Arizona Republic/azcentral.com and previously led coverage of historically excluded communities in Delaware for DelawareOnline/The News Journal. He is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, where he was part of the inaugural class of the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism. As part of IRE’s Chauncey Bailey fellowship, José Ignacio will work on a yearlong investigative reporting project focused on the treacherous conditions of Delaware’s poultry industry. The lack of proper training has led to an increase in workplace injuries with little recourse for accountability.
