Inventreprenuer.me is a 501c3 non-profit organization focused on closing IP gender gap through actionable programs. Inventreprenur.me is not founded in pure theory. As a young woman, who is a patent pending inventor and an aspiring entrepreneur, I was shocked to learn that the gender gap is even more pronounced when it comes to formal ownership of intellectual property. Less than seven percent of primary inventors listed in US patents are women. This may seem insignificant, but six trillion of the United States GDP comes from intellectual property based businesses. Women are as, if not more, creative than men, so keeping their innovation dormant is detrimental to society and keeps them away from creating wealth for themselves and their family.
