I had the pleasure to attend the CIBSE Building Performance Awards 2025 in London last week where Amazon was shortlisted for this year’s Embodied Carbon Award for our role in the development of the TM65.3 guidance, together with partners and contributors CIBSE, Introba, Vanderlande and TGW Logistics. ? Material Handling Equipment (MHE) can make up a significant proportion of the carbon footprint of logistics companies. We’ve seen that adopting the TM65.3 guidance can help reduce this by improving design specifications and enabling more informed decisions. ? This highlights our efforts to support the reduction of carbon emissions in buildings, aligning with our Climate Pledge commitment to achieve net-zero carbon across our operations by 2040. ?At Amazon, we're dedicated to leading by example. And whilst we didn’t win the award (this time ??), each and every of the shortlisted projects is a win for our planet, and we need more of them. So we remain eager to share our findings and will continue to collaborate with the industry to develop solutions that help ourselves and others to decarbonize this sector. ? It was my pleasure to take part in our internal #Connent25 Summit in Vancouver last week. Bring together over 90 leaders from our 3 brands TYLin , Introba and Landrum & Brown. It was an action packed few days of brainstorming and future planning to meet our goals for our Strategic Plan for 2030. It was great to connect in-person with colleagues from around the globe and to share the amazing work that we are doing across all our different sectors, highlighting opportunities to work together and celebrating #Innovation.

A week in Australia that was equal parts strategy, connection, and celebration! ? From leadership meetings to engaging discussions on the future of infrastructure, my time with our teams in Melbourne and Sydney was a powerful reminder of our global impact. ? One standout moment was visiting the newly completed Bundha Sports Center—Australia's first vertical sports facility, where Introba played a key role in delivering engineering and technology solutions. With five courts stacked across three levels, cutting-edge lighting, sustainable design, and immersive digital integration, this facility is redefining indoor sports and maximizing space for athletes and spectators alike. ? The trip also included our Global Town Hall, insightful discussions on strategy, and, of course, an unforgettable moment watching the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl win alongside some passionate Aussie NFL fans. ? Happy World Engineering Day! Today, we recognize the incredible impact of engineering in shaping a more sustainable and connected world. Engineering is more than just designing structures—it's about solving problems, improving lives, and building a better future for all. Last year, a passionate team of volunteers from Introba, TYLin, and Dar took this mission to heart by constructing the Muregeya Trail Bridge in Rwanda. This vital project, completed through Bridges to Prosperity, now provides safe, year-round access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for the local community. As we celebrate #WorldEngineeringDay, we're thrilled to continue this work! Our 2025 volunteer team has been selected and will travel to #Rwanda this June to help build another life-changing bridge. Their efforts highlight how engineering drives positive change and fosters sustainable development worldwide.
