Dear Network Followers, My name is Ying-Ting Chiu. I am the founder of the International Network of STEM for the Blind and Low-Vision. This post is to let you know our plans for next year and seek your monetary donation. If you do not wish to read on, you may stop here. This year, we held three online community meetings. This event did not cost much, and it was good to see collaboration being initiated through these meetings. Next year, we will continue this meeting event and do two more projects. An online school for students and an international online conference for professionals. The online school will be held in the spring of 2025, and the conference will be held in the fall of 2025. For the online school, we will be mailing learning materials, such as tactile graphics and 3D models, to students as well as contracting a few STEM teachers of the visually impaired to teach the students. For the conference, we will be seeking volunteers for the majority of the work but still need some basic personnel to help with the conference affairs in order to ensure the conference can be carried out at the planned time and conducted smoothly. As the first and only nonprofit organization in the United States whose work focuses on STEM education and careers for the blind and low-vision population worldwide, we are aware that there is so much to do in this area of work, and it takes time to facilitate the growth of the field. But with your support, we can speed it up! If you would like to make the world a better place for you and especially for your children through the work we do, please click the link in the comment below to make a donation to us. We will send you pictures of the online school and conference to keep you posted on the work you support us to do! With appreciation, Dr. Ting
