Big kudos to Filip Stojkovski for doing amazing work breaking down SecOps automation in such detail ??
SecOps Engineering @ Snyk | Cybersec Automation Evangelist | Content Creator | SOAR & Autonomous SOC Product Advisor |
EDR is one of those areas in SecOps where automation can either save your day or drive you nuts. It sounds straightforward ,detect suspicious activity on endpoints and respond ,but once you’re juggling alerts from a hundred laptops, smartphones, or that random server in the basement that nobody claims, it gets messy fast. I put together a high-level guide outlining the key steps you can automate to keep EDR alerts under control. Let me know if you are doing something differently ? https://lnkd.in/d8U4XMx9 Big thanks to Intezer for sponsoring this edition!

?? The SOC Magnificent Quadrant: Where does your SOC stand? Security teams are drowning in alerts. Some SOCs escalate too much, overwhelming analysts. Others escalate too little, missing critical threats. But how do you measure SOC performance? Introducing The SOC Magnificent Quadrant—a simple but powerful framework to assess accuracy and escalation rates. ?? Quadrant 1 (High Accuracy, High Escalation): Effective but high workload—risking analyst burnout. ?? Quadrant 2 (High Accuracy, Low Escalation): The gold standard—efficient, accurate, and resource-optimized. ??? Quadrant 3 (Low Accuracy, High Escalation): Chaos—too many false positives, too much noise. ? Quadrant 4 (Low Accuracy, Low Escalation): The danger zone—missing real threats while providing a false sense of security. At Intezer, we’ve built our Autonomous SOC to live firmly in Quadrant 2—delivering 97.68% accuracy and only 3.81% escalation rate to ensure security teams focus on what truly matters. Where does your SOC land in the quadrant? Find out in our latest blog from CEO Itai Tevet! ??Link in comments #AI #Cybersecurity #SOC #Automation #AlertTriage #SecOps

SOC burnout isn’t just about long hours—it’s about cognitive overload. ?? Too many alerts. ?? Too many tools. ?? Too much manual, repetitive work. The problem? Security teams are expected to "do more with less"—but there’s a breaking point. That’s why AI is a hot topic in cybersecurity. But let’s be clear—AI alone isn’t the solution. AI isn’t just a co-pilot—it needs to be an autonomous force multiplier. The best AI-driven SOC solutions go beyond just assisting analysts. They: ?? Triage & investigate autonomously – Not just reducing noise, but handling entire workflows. ?? Provide deep context – Analysts don’t have time to chase breadcrumbs. AI should deliver full answers, not just clues. ?? Reduce manual effort, not create new tasks – If AI still requires heavy human intervention, it’s not solving the real problem. Burnout happens when analysts are stuck in low-value, high-stress tasks. Retention happens when they’re empowered to focus on the real threats. If AI isn’t truly lifting the burden, it’s just another tool adding to the noise.

????? Is your SOC ready for the AI arms race? Itai Tevet CEO of Intezer was quoted in this excellent article by Sam Sabin the Axios Future of Cybersecurity newsletter. "The best way to fight AI attacks is with AI security tools." - Itai Tevet, CEO of Intezer, at HumanX 2025 AI Conference. This isn't just a buzzword anymore. The landscape has shifted dramatically. Itai shared a crucial insight at Human X: "In the past, we needed to evangelize on why technology can do the same job. Today, all CISOs are getting asked by their board, 'How do you leverage AI?'" The question isn't if you'll use AI in your SOC, but how effectively. Boards are demanding it. Attackers are wielding it. Are you equipping your team with the AI they need to stay ahead? Read the entire Axios article here: https://lnkd.in/eFphuH54 How are you leveraging AI to enhance your security posture? Share your thoughts below. ?? Really, really spot on cybersecurity insights from Allie Mellen at Forrester about all the agentic AI buzz ??
The Blob strikes again! The latest cybersecurity buzzword? Agentic AI ?? Agentic AI is not new. It's also not the same as having an AI agent, or RAG, or generative AI as a whole. It's one or more AI agents that operate, plan, and adapt without human intervention to achieve a task (or series of tasks). We at Forrester released a formal definition and report on agentic AI, which you can read more about in the blog (along with security specific use cases!): https://lnkd.in/euXFk8yS A huge thank you to Rowan Curran, Leslie Joseph, Craig Le Clair, Brian Hopkins, Sudha Maheshwari, and Karsten Monteverde for all their painstaking work researching and releasing the report to guide Forrester. Thank you to Joseph Blankenship, Liam Holloway as always for their support getting this blog out!
