Bringing nearly a decade of experience as an award-winning journalist to her new role, Emily joins our team from The San Diego Union-Tribune where she covered county government, breaking news and community issues impacting underserved populations. Her sharp news judgement, storytelling instincts and deep understanding of local issues make her a rare and valuable addition to Intesa! Born to Brazilian immigrant parents, she is a proud first-generation American and is conversational in Spanish and Portuguese. When not hard at work, Emily enjoys all things Disney, reading a good book, snowboarding and traveling with her boyfriend and husky-malamute pup, Praia, which means “beach” in Portuguese. ???? We’re thrilled to share that the San Diego Tourism Authority and Intesa Communications Group are finalists in the national 2024 Ragan Communications and PR Daily Awards for our “Summer of Economic Power: Celebrating San Diego’s Tourism Industry” campaign!?????? Together, we showcased the incredible impact of tourism in our region over a nine-month communications campaign. It was complete with a lively press conference and mascot parade at the San Diego Zoo to kick off the summer season, creating and promoting two research reports, and securing more than $10 million of total earned media value. ????Welcome aboard HaiJay!???? We are excited to announce HaiJay White as our new Communications and Multimedia Intern. HaiJay brings incredible enthusiasm and boundless creativity to the Intesa team. In her internship, she’ll demonstrate and learn best practices in digital and social media management, content creation, strategic communications, and media relations. HaiJay is a senior at San Diego State University (Go Aztecs!), where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications, with a minor in digital and social media studies. Her academic and extracurricular experiences have deepened her love for public speaking, interpersonal communication, networking and research. This summer, Intesa led an inspiring afternoon with leaders of San Diego State University’s Division of Research and Innovation and the SDSU Research Foundation ! ?? Working with such dynamic, high-performing teams is always a privilege. We dove deep into what it takes to show up with a “communicator’s mindset,” mastering message discipline, and uncovering our authentic leadership superpowers. And, of course, we wrapped it up with some fun and competitive board games—thank you to the SDSU team for bringing the energy! ??
