I established my autism ABA practice 6.5 years ago with just one person—myself. Fueled by a deep passion for helping the autism community, I took the leap to start something from scratch, knowing the profound impact ABA therapy can have on individuals with autism. From those humble beginnings, with me managing every aspect of the practice, we have grown into one of the largest in-person, center-based autism practices in the Bay Area. Coming from an Iranian immigrant background, my journey has been shaped by the dreams my father had for me. As a woman, he didn’t want me to grow up in Iran, therefore he went above and beyond to send us abroad, determined to give us a better future. Getting an American visa for an Iranian family in the 1990s was nearly impossible, but my father never gave up. He kept telling the American consulate, “Give my kids the visa, and I promise they will make significant changes that benefit many people in the United States.” Today, as I stand among my incredible team members, my father is here in the photo, proud that his promise made 26 years ago has become a reality. Today, our practice has 150 dedicated employees, including about 10 Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and nearly 20 program supervisors who are on the path to becoming BCBAs. This growth is not just a testament to the need for quality ABA services but also to the dedication and commitment of my team to this very significant cause.
