Neutral tones and natural elements create a calming atmosphere, while wood accents add warmth and sophistication. With exam rooms strategically positioned for natural light and playful design touches in the pediatric area, every detail enhances the patient experience. Interplan recently had the opportunity to inspire the next generation! Our designers and architects attended Career and STEM events at local elementary schools, raising awareness about architecture and its role in STEM—Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. By showcasing the creativity and problem-solving behind design, we’re helping young minds see the possibilities in shaping the built environment.

This past weekend, some of our team took on the slopes at Liberty—some for the first time, others trying (and sometimes failing) to show off on the advanced runs. Let’s just say there were plenty of laughs, a few wipeouts, and an even greater love for solid ground.

We recently gathered for a planting party (with plants from Merrifield Garden Center) to add the final touches to our new office—bringing greenery into our space and celebrating the milestone with a well-earned cheers! From the start, it was important to us to incorporate natural elements into our work environment. By integrating biophilic design through plants, we’re creating a space that supports well-being, boosts productivity, and inspires creativity. Our new home is officially complete, and we couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead!

Interplan recently completed a design project for Comprehensive Primary Care in Rockville, MD, merging two primary care physician practices into a larger, more integrated facility. Designed with accessibility, efficiency, and patient comfort in mind, the space features nurses' stations, intuitive wayfinding, and a welcoming reception area. Thoughtful finishes, colorful art, and high-quality materials create a warm and functional environment for patients and care teams. Interplan recently completed the design and construction for a confidential financial client. The space was carefully designed to foster collaboration and enhance the productivity of the firm’s team, incorporating multiple collaboration spaces and conference rooms. The layout features perimeter offices for senior staff and interior workstations for staff, maximizing space and efficiency, while dedicated areas for privacy and informal meetings add flexibility to the workspace. One of the most appealing aspects of the office design is the staff lounge area, which overlooks a serene, wooded landscape. The lounge is equipped with multiple seating arrangements, allowing employees and guests to relax and enjoy the tranquil view. A coffee bar serves as a central point for casual conversations, while a dedicated media room provides a space to record various podcasts. The overall design creates a balanced environment that encourages both productivity and well-being, offering a sophisticated yet comfortable workspace for all who use it.
