All countries are obligated to promote and protect the human rights of all persons without discrimination. Yet hundreds of millions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (LGBTIQ+) people still face discrimination, rejection, poverty, violence, prison, torture and even death - just for being who they are. The International Pride Awards seeks to shine a light on the work of brave and visionary equality heroes, to tell their stories, and to inspire more people to advocate for equality. The International Pride Awards is a joint project by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and ILGA World.
