Founded in 1989, members of the International Superyacht Society (ISS) represent the yachting industry worldwide. Through committees, events, educational opportunities, and business-to-business collaboration, ISS works collectively to both strengthen and grow the business interests of Society members, while serving as a unified voice for issues affecting the yachting marketplace as a whole.

We kicked off the new year with a new Education Committee Chair—Barrett Wright, President of Hill Robinson USA. Had Barrett Wright not been fired from her first job after college, she may never have made her way into the yachting industry. Barrett attended the University of Pennsylvania and began her professional career at Sotheby's in 2000. After working as a chef on board large sailing yachts, Barrett met her now husband in Newport, RI and moved ashore to work for Ted Fontaine at the Fontaine Design Group, designers of customized high-performance racing / cruising sailing yachts, and his range of Friendship yachts. Upon relocating to Florida, Barrett switched her sights to yacht management and in 2011 joined Hill Robinson as a Yacht and Company Accountant. After expanding her duties to include yacht operations, Barrett gained extensive experience in all aspects of yacht management and in 2015 she was promoted to President of Hill Robinson USA. Barrett continues to participate on a variety of industry event panels including the MARE Forum and her experience with the many aspects of yacht ownership has been featured in a variety of publications and podcasts.
