关于我们
IFIP is led by donors and Indigenous leaders to advance a new movement in philanthropy that better values, supports and partners with Indigenous communities. Donors and Indigenous leaders are afforded unique opportunities to respectfully learn from one another at our regional meetings and international donor summits. This face-to-face engagement plants the seeds for trust and enduring collaborations. We build capacity for both Indigenous communities seeking support and donors interested in high impact philanthropy. Personalized encounters, buttressed by social media, case studies and original research on best practices, form the cornerstones of IFIP’s strategy.

?? Indigenous Women's leadership is vital in preserving ecosystems, managing natural resources, and implementing climate adaptation strategies. ?? Join us at tomorrow's side event "Commitments in Action: Direct Investment in Indigenous Women to Advance Climate Resilience". ??? November 21: 2:50 pm - 4 pm, Baku, Azerbaijan. The event will feature an engaging panel discussion with cross-sector representatives of the Indigenous Women's movement, the feminist climate justice advocates, and the donor community to amplify the voices to improve the accessibility of climate finance for Indigenous Women.?This session is vital because without direct access to climate finance, Indigenous Women face significant challenges in developing locally-led initiatives and scaling climate adaptation and mitigation efforts. The discussion aims to explore the pathways needed to create more inclusive, equitable, accessible, and direct climate finance models while fostering collaboration amongst funders to scale up the financial support for Indigenous Women's Climate Project. ?? ?Direct and equitable access to funding is vital for the resilience and adaptation strategies of Indigenous Peoples in the face of climate change. This supports local communities to implement their own solutions that align with traditional values, knowledge and practices. On Monday our Executive Director, Lourdes Inga led discussions on ‘Direct Funding for Indigenous Women’s Organizations, Struggling for Climate Justice’.? We would like to acknowledge and thank the other?panel members -?? ?? Jennifer Rubis, Green Climate Fund ?? Noemi Grutter,? Global Alliance For Green And Gender Action (GAGGA) ??Mrs. Nonette Royo, The International Land and Forest Tenure Facility ??Alumite Sekinairai, iTaukei Women in Conservation who contributed to discussions. While there has been some improvement since 2010 in the proportion of funds benefiting Indigenous women, there are still structural barriers to accessing funding.? We must continue to advocate for and enhance support for Indigenous women? and organisations working together to support Indigenous Peoples globally.

?? Growing direct funding pathways can support Indigenous-led strategies and resilience in the face of climate change. Last week at COP29 in Baku, our Executive Director Lourdes Inga was part of key discussions with the Resilience Hub addressing ‘The Pathway to Resilience: Transforming Climate Finance for Indigenous and Local Community-Led Action’. Lourdes’ contribution centred on how Philanthropy can be strengthened where Indigenous People can lead decision making and program design.? For there to be scalable solutions, successful models of funding also need to address the structural barriers that limit Indigenous Peoples' equitable access to philanthropic funding. #ClimateJustice #COP29 #DirectFunding #ClimateResilience #IndigenousKnowledge #indigenousphilanthropy
