When I was at the International Franchise Association Foundation, I took the time to pursue my Certified Franchise Executive certification (#CFE). Here at The American Legion, we have a program called Basic Training, and I completed it on Sunday. Continuing education is important, and becoming an recognized expert within your organization serves both you and the organization as you take on new projects. Does your company offer any additional training or certifications?

NEW IFA research out today! IFA, in partnership with FRANdata, released the 2024 Franchising Economic Outlook and its Annual Franchisor Survey. The Economic Outlook shows franchising continues to exceed growth expectations, outpacing overall U.S. economic growth and details a state-by-state analysis. The Franchisor Survey shows key trends and challenges facing franchised businesses. Here are a few key takeaways from the Economic Outlook, sponsored by Benetrends Financial: - Franchise establishments will increase by 15,000 units, or 1.9%, to 821,000 units. - Franchising is expected to add approximately 221,000 jobs in 2024, totaling 8.9 million in the United States. - Total franchise output will increase by 4.1%, from $858.5 billion in 2023 to $893.9 billion in 2024. - Personal services and quick service restaurants (QSRs) will experience the strongest growth of any industry. - The top ten states for franchise growth include: Texas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Maryland, Arizona, Colorado, and Virginia. And from the 2024 Franchisor Survey, sponsored by Paychex: - 80% of respondents reported that their franchises have unfulfilled job vacancies. 34% of businesses cite the cost and quality of labor as the number one business challenge, but down from 47% in 2023. - Franchisors are highly concerned that the relationship with franchisees will change due to the new joint employer standard, with 74% citing a high-level of concern. - Rising prices, including higher wages, have led to margin compression. Emerging challenges for the year ahead include the cost of financing and weakening consumer demand. Read the full reports here: https://lnkd.in/gCSzG8AD
