As we reflect on #VeteransDay, we are proudly highlighting Beverly Lee, who is currently an #EconomicRecoveryCorps Fellow and a Retired U.S. Air Force Colonel. She?is a champion of aerospace and technology-driven economic development who actively advocates for technology driven companies and entrepreneurs in the Middle Tennessee region; in fact, she was instrumental in the city of Tullahoma, TN being awarded the 2022 designation of “Great American Defense Community” by the Association of Defense Communities.?? ? As part of the ERC program which connects fellows with host organization to help advance a strategic project for 2.5 years, Lee is supporting Tullahoma Area Economic Development Corporation by helping grow an inclusive STEM workforce and increase the region’s economic resilience.? ? Home to the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (the world’s largest and most advanced aerospace testing center), #rural Tullahoma TN is the epicenter of emerging technology testing for the nation. Hence, there is an impending need for highly-skilled technicians, engineers, scientists, and professional administrators with projections to hire over 1,000 personnel in the next few years. The #ERCFellow will serve as primary liaison for #aerospace and #tech industries, recruiting firms and entrepreneurs to identify, prioritize, and develop #WorkforceDevelopment needs and strategies critical for an inclusive, community-informed entrepreneurial ecosystem.? ?
