ICRW is proud to partner with UNESCO to launch a report on initiatives that engage men and boys for gender equality in India. As we prepare for the report’s release in the coming days, we want to share a key recommendation: the importance of starting early when engaging men and boys. ? Over the past two decades, our research and programming have consistently shown that it’s easier to work with men and boys when they are younger. At a young age, they are more receptive, have more time, and demonstrate greater openness to changing their attitudes and behaviors. This insight has led us to adapt our programs to focus on boys in classes 6 to 8, addressing issues of gender and masculinities. We are also exploring ways to engage even younger boys to maximize long-term impact. ? From our experience, starting early helps shape attitudes before rigid gender norms take hold, fostering a generation that values equality and respect. What has your experience been? We’d love to hear your thoughts and strategies. Stay tuned for more recommendations and the full report! #ICRW #genderequality International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) I UNESCO I The Gender Lab I The YP Foundation I CORO INDIA I Equal Community Foundation I Population Council I PCI Consulting I Centre for Catalyzing Change (C3) I Pathfinder International I Mava I MenEngage Alliance I Asian Development Bank (ADB) I Equimundo: Center for Masculinities and Social Justice I CEQUIN - Centre for Equity & Inclusion I Ravi Verma I Pranita Achyut I Amajit Mukherjee I Abhishek Gautam I Sapna Kedia I ARPIT SINGH I Falak Raza I NITIN DATTA I Radhika Uppal I Deepannita M.
