IBP works to create a world in which government budgets are transparent, accountable and inclusive.
关于我们
The International Budget Partnership collaborates with civil society organizations around the world to improve governance and ensure that scarce public resources are used effectively to improve service delivery and fight poverty. We work to achieve these goals by promoting public finance systems and processes that are transparent, participatory, and accountable and by building the capacity of civil society to participate effectively in these systems.

[This week in Nigeria] Our tax coalition partners came together for a crucial 2025 planning session. With teams from four project states and the federal level, we're building momentum for tax justice across the country. Our global and regional leadership joined Nigerian partners to share insights and align local initiatives with broader advocacy goals. Special thanks to the West African Tax Administration Forum for bringing regional expertise to the table! Our partners emerged with concrete 2025 workplans, stronger collaborative networks, and clear pathways to link their local tax equity work to regional and global advocacy efforts. Exciting to see our Nigerian partners leading the charge for tax equity. Their work shows how local action drives national reform and contributes to global progress. #TaxJustice #Nigeria #openbudgets

Across the MENA region, budget transparency remains a challenge. While some countries have some stability in their public financial transparency, there’s still room for improvement. Our Open Budget Survey 2023 shows over half of key budget documents are not publicly available while 30% of these documents are either restricted to internal use or published too late to be useful. “Public finance must become a tool to combat discrimination and violence, driving real equality in Morocco. This requires identifying gender gaps in data collection and integrating gender-sensitive information into systems that track access to education, healthcare, employment, and other public services. Only by addressing these disparities can we ensure that no woman or girl is left behind." - Khadija Errebah, Program Director, The Association Démocratique Des Femmes Du Maroc
-
"The main obstacles to advancing budget transparency and public participation include weak societal awareness of its importance for good governance, limited public understanding of participation tools, and the absence of a binding legal framework to ensure civil society involvement." - Ali Fayyad, Executive Director, Partners Jordan

"The #EuropeanUnion remains strongly committed, in collaboration with Governments and CSOs from the MENA region, to increase budget transparency, as it is a critical factor in promoting good governance and fight against corruption." Pablo CENDOYA REVENGA, Investment, Trade and Economic Governance - European Commission Directorate General for the Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations (NEAR)

"Budget data are key not just to reflect numbers of expenditure but also to show the efficiency and effectiveness of spending. This should be reflected in the quality of public services. For example, performance audit reports are essential to observe the effectiveness and efficiency of spending."
