North America's strongest union.
关于我们
The Teamsters are one of North America’s largest, most diverse unions. In 1903, the Teamsters started as a merger of the two leading team driver associations. These drivers were the backbone of America’s robust economic growth, but they needed to organize to wrest their fair share from greedy corporations. Today, the Union’s task is exactly the same. The Teamsters are known as the champion of freight drivers and warehouse workers, but have organized workers in virtually every occupation imaginable, both professional and non-professional, private sector and public sector. Our 1.2 million members are public defenders in Minnesota; vegetable workers in California; sanitation workers in New York; brewers in St. Louis; newspaper workers in Seattle; construction workers in Las Vegas; zoo keepers in Pennsylvania; healthcare workers in Rhode Island; bakery workers in Maine; airline pilots, secretaries and police officers. Name the occupation and chances are we represent those workers somewhere. Teamsters stand ready to organize workers who want to bargain collectively. Once a contract is negotiated and signed, the Union works to enforce it—holding management’s feet to the fire and invoking contract grievance procedures if management chooses not to. Wages and benefits under Teamster contracts are markedly better than those of non-union employees in similar jobs. Teamster contracts are the guarantors of decent wages, fair promotion, health coverage, job security, paid time-off and retirement income. The Teamsters Union also performs vital tasks in such areas as pension management, safety & health, community outreach, governmental affairs and communications. For more than a century, the Teamsters have been a public voice for the rights and aspirations of working men and women and a key player in securing them.

There is no force on Earth that can get workers what they deserve like the Teamsters can. In the last three years, Teamsters have won the best contracts and pay increases in decades, including National Master Contracts covering hundreds of thousands of workers at UPS, Anheuser-Busch and Costco. Across diverse industries and employers of all sizes, Teamsters have consistently won record contracts throughout the O’Brien-Zuckerman administration.

Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman addressed Teamsters Local 952 stewards in Orange, Calif., on Saturday, highlighting their vital role in the strength and success of the union. “We’ve spent the last three years working to make the Teamsters more militant and better equipped to take on any challenge for our members,†O’Brien said. “As stewards, you are our first line of defense. Your dedication ensures that Teamsters never back down, never settle for less, and never stop fighting for what’s right. Everything we do must keep our rank-and-file members informed and ready for action.†Local 952 Secretary-Treasurer Eric Jimenez led the seminar, providing stewards with the tools and resources to fight for stronger contracts and hold employers accountable.

Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien and newly confirmed U.S. Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer met at-length on last Thursday at Teamsters headquarters in Washington, D.C., to discuss key issues important to rank-and-file Teamsters and priority areas to strengthen labor law in America and improve the Department of Labor. “Coming from a Teamsters household, Secretary Chavez-DeRemer knows firsthand that strong unions protect American workers and build a better nation,†O’Brien said. “Today was a special opportunity to again congratulate our new Secretary on her powerful bipartisan confirmation. I look forward to working with her to safeguard and expand good-paying Teamsters jobs. I have no doubt she will help deliver real results for our 1.3 million members.â€

Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien and newly confirmed Assistant Attorney General of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division Gail Slater met today for a lengthy and constructive conversation at the Teamsters headquarters in Washington, D.C. The two discussed key Teamsters priorities like ensuring that the needs and voices of workers are included in the merger review process. They also discussed the importance of robust antitrust enforcement actions that protect American workers from anticompetitive and unfair practices in labor markets and building a strong bipartisan consensus around labor antitrust. With her impressive track record as a principled public servant and seasoned antitrust expert, Slater is the perfect person to lead the DOJ’s Antitrust Division into a new pro-worker era. The Teamsters are proud to have supported her nomination, and we look forward to working with her to advance the interests of the American worker.

MINEROS OF CALIFORNIA JOINS TEAMSTERS GENERAL EXECUTIVE BOARD The Teamsters General Executive Board convened its first meeting of 2025 at Teamsters headquarters in Washington, DC, on Tuesday — and welcomed a strong labor leader to its ranks. Victor Mineros, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 396 in Southern California, was officially sworn in today, joining the board as an International Western Region Vice President. Lindsay Dougherty, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 399 in Los Angeles, was unanimously named an International Vice President At-Large on the Teamsters board. A former Western Region leader, Dougherty fills the seat vacated by outgoing At-Large Vice President Joan Corey of Teamsters Local 25 in Boston. Corey is tackling a new role supporting the Future Leaders program for young Teamsters across the International Union. “Rank-and-file Teamsters across the country will benefit from having the experience and leadership of Victor Mineros of Teamsters Local 396 on this powerful General Executive Board,†said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien. “Local 396 is home to the very first union of Amazon Teamsters, and Victor knows how to take on UPS and win big for our members — he’s not afraid of a fight. As we dive into another year of growth for the International Union, the Teamsters are better positioned than ever to protect our members coast-to-coast.†Throughout the day on Tuesday, General Executive Board members reviewed the Teamsters’ organizing strength, investments in member communications and political action, and received reports on the state of the union from O’Brien and General Secretary-Treasurer Fred Zuckerman.

Following the bipartisan confirmation vote of former Congresswoman Lori Chavez-DeRemer to serve as U.S. Secretary of Labor, Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien issued the following statement: “Lori Chavez-DeRemer will do an excellent job leading the U.S. Department of Labor. We are committed to fighting alongside her to protect the working class and strengthen our nation by putting workers first. “Chavez-DeRemer earned support on both sides of the aisle, highlighting her ability to bridge divides and serve all Americans effectively. The Teamsters thank the bipartisan coalition of senators who put the needs of working people ahead of politics, and President Donald Trump for boldly nominating her to oversee the Department of Labor. “There is no doubt Chavez-DeRemer is the best person for the job. We were proud to stand with her from the start. “But let’s be clear — hardworking Americans should not forget who voted against them by trying to tank this nomination. Democratic holdouts participated in Chuck Schumer’s political theater instead of working together to get something done for working people. Unsurprisingly, Rand Paul did what he always does — shilled for Big Business and the union-busting National Right to Work Foundation. “This system of political selfishness must be dismantled if workers are going to get ahead. The Teamsters will continue to work with anyone — regardless of political party — to address the needs of all workers and build a strong bipartisan block that returns the American worker to the forefront of policymaking.â€

This weekend, the Teamsters Human Rights and Diversity Commission (HRDC) participated in a variety of events commemorating the 60th anniversary of the March on Selma in Alabama. The march memorializes the events of “Bloody Sunday†where nonviolent civil rights activists led by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. were brutally attacked as they marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge to demand equal voting rights. In addition to marching on the 60th anniversary, Teamsters spent the weekend taking part in community service events and workshops across Alabama. On March 8, the Teamsters visited the memorial of Viola Liuzzo, a civil rights activist who was murdered by the KKK after the March on Selma and the wife of Teamsters Local 247 Business Agent Anthony Liuzzo. “It is extremely powerful to be in Selma sixty years after the horrors of Bloody Sunday,†said Anthony M. Rosa, Director of the Teamsters Human Rights and Diversity Commission. “We honor those who sacrificed everything to advance equality and justice in our society and are reminded of the hard work ahead of us down this road. The Teamsters will continue to carry the legacy of those before us in fighting for racial, economic, and social justice for all.â€
