#BiocharAcademy2025- Exploring Biochar’s Lifecycle & Carbon Impact Dr. Jarudej Asingsamanunt from Kasetsart University shared his expertise on how biochar impacts the environment- from production to application. In this Workshop He explained how Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) helps measure biochar’s benefits and challenges, comparing emissions, energy use, and carbon storage. I see Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) as a crucial tool in understanding biochar’s long term impact- not just as a carbon sink but as a real, measurable asset in carbon markets, because it helps track biochar’s carbon storage, emissions, and energy use, making it easier to validate its benefits and attract investment. There are immense opportunities for integrating biochar based solutions into India’s agricultural systems and this framework will definitely add value to making them more sustainable and efficient.
