?? #Wildfires Joseph Ten Eyck, who coordinates the #IAFF wildfire urban interface program, tells #USAToday that the record number of urban brush fires highlight "the climate environment that’s being experienced all over North America." About 88% of fire departments battle those events but less than 40% have been trained for them. “New York City parks are surrounded by densely populated urban areas, so there’s a threat to that as well,’’ Ten Eyck said. “That’s why we’re training #firefighters to be all-risk, all-hazards fire fighters.’’
