关于我们
IFS Institute welcomes all people of any age, race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, class, ability, language or cultural background into the Internal Family Systems community. You are welcome here, and all of your parts are welcome too. Learn more about our Individual and Organizational IFS Training Scholarship opportunities which support our quest to expand diversity and inclusivity in our community. IFS is a transformative, evidence-based psychotherapy that helps people heal by accessing and loving their protective and wounded inner parts. We believe the mind is naturally multiple and that is a good thing. Just like members of a family, inner parts are forced from their valuable states into extreme roles within us. We also all have a core Self. Self is in everyone. It can’t be damaged. It knows how to heal. By helping people first access their Self and, from that core, come to understand and heal their parts, IFS creates inner and outer connectedness

My experience is that when couples can communicate Self-to-Self, creative solutions often come to them that had been unavailable when their parts were locking horns. Learn more: https://hubs.ly/Q02XVqgg0 Purchase Books: https://hubs.ly/Q02XVpQl0 #internalfamilysystems

This U.S. election was a momentous event in the history of this country and perhaps the world. Regardless of which side you were on, I hope we can agree that the world desperately needs more Self-leadership right now. We are facing so many polarizations and parts-driven people on both sides exacerbating problems and preventing more Self-led solutions. This dynamic is not dissimilar to the state of many of our clients’ internal systems when we first encounter them. My intuition is to use the election as a call to action to bring more Self-leadership to the world. Each of us in the IFS community is already doing this in our offices, workshops, retreats, and our own inner systems, but it’s time for more collaboration and coordination of our efforts. It’s time for more healing at the level of the collective. And, along those lines, it’s time for me to ask more directly for your help in this direction. I’m not yet sure exactly what that will look like, but I will be working with various people in our community and beyond in the coming days to try to envision some kind of coordinated effort. In the meantime, I encourage you to do what I’m doing which is to go to the parts that are triggered, reminding them that I’m there for them, and see if any are stuck in the past with these feelings. Some of mine are just upset and need my presence and aren’t burdened, but I found some that are, and this event has been helpful in finding them and being with them. Helping my parts this way allows me to access more calm, courage, and clarity which will be needed in the months to come. A Merchant of Hope, Dick
