Emma Oradu- Oita, MSc, CIA weighed in her thoughts on accelerating action this IWD. She emphasized that building empires is in our DNA as women and we have build them from scratch and with minimal resources. There exists opportunities for us to achieve greater things through equitable access. The theme for the year “Accelerate Action” emphasizes the need to be more deliberate in the support provided to women. We must move from dialogue to concrete actions which may include implementing practical policies and frameworks aimed at empowering women socially, economically and professionally by those in leadership and decision-making positions. We can not celebrate women achievements in just a day but must embedd the same in the organisation culture and systems. By making these values a routine part of operational frameworks, we can create an environment that continuously recognizes and uplifts women's contributions—leading to more sustainable and impactful results and ultimately resulting in a more equitable and prosperous society for everyone. #Accelerating Action #IWD 2025
