关于我们

The Intermountain Sustainability Summit (ISS) is Utah’s largest sustainability conference and has been held in Ogden, Utah, since 2010. Each year, the ISS attracts approximately 400 sustainability professionals and emerging leaders from business, government, nonprofit and academic sectors. The ISS is hosted by Weber State’s Sustainability Practices and Research Center with influence from community partners, business, students and engaged citizens. It was started by Weber State student, Chris Brown, as a recycling event in 2009 and formalized as the Intermountain Sustainability Summit the following year. ISS speakers have deepened participant understanding of renewable energy, green buildings, electrification, transportation, climate change, social justice, new economic models and more. Past keynotes have included luminaries such as Mary Robinson, Paul Hawken, Jeff Speck, and Naomi Oreskes. The ISS’s main day of events includes keynotes, local and national speakers, an Eco Expo, the Student Poster Contest, interactive sessions and more. Attendees can also attend longer format workshops for deep dives into specific areas of knowledge in workshop sessions. Those who attend the ISS walk away with an expanded network, as well as an improved capacity to care for our environment, improve living conditions and human health.
