We can't wait to build and deploy a fleet of Penny Pickup Robots! Here's to Orange Sparkle Ball, Inc. and its continued success.
At Orange Sparkle Ball, we know that technology works best when it works for people — and that’s why community engagement was a core part of our Autonomous Robotic Pickup Platform pilots in Detroit. Throughout the pilot series, we actively involved residents, businesses, and local organizations to ensure our solutions were not only innovative but also relevant and accessible to the people they serve. ?? Key moments in community engagement: ?? NCNA Park Cleanup Demo – We showcased our food waste collection robot at a neighborhood cleanup event, demonstrating how robotics can support community composting efforts. ?? Detroit Month of Design – We hosted live demonstrations and a panel discussion, sparking conversations around the future of urban waste collection and the role of robotics in sustainability. ?? Neighborhood Outreach – We connected directly with residents at NCNA General Member Meetings, inviting them to participate and shape the program. ?? Digital Outreach – From newsletters to local listservs and Instagram posts, we made sure every community member had the opportunity to get involved and share feedback. ?? Demo Days – We invited city officials, local businesses, and the media to experience robotic pickups in action, highlighting both the technology and its potential to make Detroit a leader in sustainable micromobility logistics.
