For 37 years and in 100 countries, Frauscher Sensor Technology USA Inc. has supplied reliable axle counters for train detection. We entered the North American rail space in 2015 to a market dominated by track circuits and unaware of axle counting, but strong education efforts have paid off with solid growth. The intermodal space sees our axle counters used for train detection including protection of grade crossings and switch points, verifying train presence up to SIL4 safety rating. Our wheel sensors trigger intermodal systems like vision monitoring & AEI readers. Frauscher systems easily withstand common harsh conditions and subpar ballast. Higher-ranking diagnostic systems offer a real-time view of a system’s overall health, allowing for preemptive maintenance. Frauscher’s IANA membership provides many benefits, as our technology is well suited to the train detection needs of intermodal rail. Our membership exposes us to new organizations unfamiliar with Frauscher via our listing in the Member Directory and Intermodal Marketplace. The members only “Intermodal Analyzed” and access to data from IANA’s Dashboard are great tools. Our next-gen technology makes it important to stay ahead of the curve, so the weekly Intermodal Connections e-newsletter keeps us up to date on important intermodal space news.
